The Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co-Presidency called on all Kurdish people to wage all-out resistance against the attacks of the Turkish security forces on people and to demonstrate and show that the people of Silopi and Amed (Diyarbakir) are not alone.
Issuing a statement regarding yesterday's attacks by Turkish security forces against the local people in the Silopi district of Şırnak, Kurdistan Communities Union Executive Council Co-Presidency urged all the Kurdish people to wage all-out resistance against the attacks and to demonstrate to the Turkish state and the AKP government that people of Silopi and Amed are not alone.
KCK said the attacks in Silopi and Amed proved once again the insistence of the Turkish state on policies of denial and annihilation against the Kurds, and added:
“Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AKP government could not come to terms with the election results and have taken a decision of war against the Kurdish people and executed it by launching an extensive bombardment against the guerrilla held areas which have continued increasingly. Following the massacre of civilians in the village of Zergele, Turkish state forces this time launched an open attack on local people in Silopi”.
Recalling that Turkish security forces shot three civilians dead in the attacks, left dozens of others wounded ad set many houses on fire in Silopi, KCK described these attacks as cruelty and brutal violence against the people and drew attention to the wave of extensive detentions and arrests carried out in the last weeks. KCK said all these proved that the Turkish state had carried the war against Kurdish people to a new stage and that it will continue to pursue these war policies.
KCK said attacks on local people in Silopi and Amed demonstrated the Turkish state's insistence on policies of denial and annihilation and proved that the policies of threat and intimidation against all the Kurdish people have been effectively put into practice.
“The Kurdish people must wage all-out resistance against these attacks in all areas and demonstrate to the Turkish sate and the AKP government that the people of Silopi and Amed are not alone”, stressed the KCK statement.
