Turkish Warplanes Bomb al-Bab, Northern Syria, Killing At Least 18

Turkish warplanes reportedly killed at least 18 and wounded over 100 people in al-Bab, east of the city of Aleppo on Wednesday.

According to local sources, at least 18 were killed and over 100 civilians were wounded when Turkish and coalition warplanes bombarded the village of Tel Tana, north of al-Bab, around 00:00 local time on Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has said dozens were killed and wounded in the attack. The group has so far documented the deaths of 13 civilians but said the death toll is likely to rise as there are serious injuries among the roughly 60 casualties.

Warplanes also struck the village of Jabal  Asim, killing three civilians from Tel Tana.

Wounded civilians were not allowed to be taken to hospitals for treatment.

Around 2,000 people were displaced from their homes in northern al-Bab villages, moving to the Afrin canton, amid intensive bombing by Turkish warplanes.

Local sources say Turkey is forcefully displacing the Kurds in the area with air raids in a bid to alter the demographics of the region.
