The People's Protection Units (YPG) Media Centre has said in a written statement that the Turkish military is continuing its attack on their forces in Rojava-North Syria.

In the statement the YPG said the Turkish army had attacked the Til Seriyê village with heavy artillery on 25 August and continued its attacks on other areas today.

"The Turkish army attacked our forces in Derik's (Northeast Syria) Ain Diwar village with heavy artillery in the early hours of 26 August. We responded and clashes, which are ongoing ensued."

The YPG also said that the Islamic State (IS) had attacked Qadriye village, which lies on the southeast of the Tishreen Dam in the area attached to Kobane on 25 August, while groups affiliated to the Syrian National Council had attacked Maranez and Sheikh Isa villages in Afrin with heavy artillery and mortars on the evening of the same day.

Attacks on all fronts have intensified against Kurdish-led forces following Turkey's incursion into Jarablus on 24 August.
